KEVIN VONDRAK is delighted to be joining the Madison Choral Project this season as a tenor. Based in Evanston, Illinois, he is currently finishing his masters degree in Choral Conducting at Northwestern University, where he studies with Donald Nally and Albert Pinsonneault. At school, Vondrak is the graduate assistant conductor of BCE - the Bienen Contemporary/Early Vocal Ensemble, conductor for the Chamber Opera Initiative, and recently presented a complete performance of Caroline Shaw's seminal work Partita for 8 Voices as a part of his masters recital. He has studied as a Vocal Fellow at the Big Sky Choral Initiative, and will return again this summer to spend a week in the Montana mountains studying new music with The Crossing. In addition to his work with classical choral music, Vondrak is an award-winning contemporary a cappella musical director and arranger, and currently directs Echo Effect at Niles West High School in Skokie, Illinois. He holds a BA from Washington University in St. Louis, where he sang with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus for three seasons..
