Mezzo-Soprano JESSICA TIMMAN SCHWEFEL is an Adjunct Professor of Voice at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and owner of the Timman Music Studio located in McFarland, Wisconsin.  Dr. Timman has performed regionally with such companies as Opera for the Young, Fresco Opera Theatre, Madison Bach Musicians, Music by the Lake, among others.  In addition, Dr. Timman was a Studio Artist with Madison Opera for their 2012-2013 season and has been a member of the Florentine Opera Chorus since 2008.  While performing with the Florentine Opera, she participated in the recordings of Elmer Gantry and Rio de Sangre, which collectively earned three Grammy Awards in 2012 and 2013.

Dr. Timman was recently selected as a teacher to attend the 2014 Naked Voice Summer Institute at Northwestern University under the direction of Prof. W. Stephen Smith. She has been teaching from her independent voice studio, the Timman Music Studio, since 2008.  Dr. Timman’s students have been recipients of numerous music scholarships and awards and also perform in a variety of venues around the country.

Dr. Timman received a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and a Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts in Voice Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While at UW-Madison, she was the recipient of such awards including the Voice Excellence Wisconsin Distinguished Graduate Fellowship, Opera Props award, and the Dara Welty Memorial Award.  For more information, please visit
